Russian Woman Nadezhda Oleneva Who went Missing Above at Mt dhaulagiri
A Russian woman climber Nadezhda Oleneva who went missing on Mt. Dhaulagiri since yesterday morning has been located at an altitude of over 6,000m during an aerial search mission. Iswari Paudel, the Managing Director of Himalayan Guides, shared that Nadezhda Oleneva, 38, was found around 6,100m up in the mountains by a Kailash Helicopter search team led by Senior Captain Philipp Schwegler, assisted by Roman Abildaev. They came upon Nadezhda, who was stuck in an ice sheet fracture.
Efforts are now underway to organize a long-line rescue operation to bring her to safety, but the outcome remains uncertain. Paudel explained that the success of the rescue mission hinges on favorable weather conditions and is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Nadezhda had tumbled into a crevasse from around 6,680m at approximately 11:25 am the previous day. She was part of a three-member team of Russian climbers attempting to ascend Dhaulagiri without relying on a base camp or Sherpa support. Her fellow climbers, Roman Abildaev and Radom Kashapov, reported that she had fallen approximately 500m lower, based on GPS coordinates. All three climbers were striving to conquer Dhaulagiri in an alpine style, refraining from using supplemental oxygen, as per reports.
